Cheeseburger Salad

When you typically think of a cheeseburger your next logical thought is fries…definitely not salad. Well this recipe is about to change all of that! This salad allows you to have the best of both worlds, a meaty, cheesy burger on top on your favorite greens. It is a good compromise. I was inspired by a burger salad I recently had at a restaurant with my family and I immediately thought “I could easily recreate this at home!” I think it may have even turned out better than the original.

1 Bubba Burger sweet onion patty

1 cup romaine lettuce mix

1 cup arugula

Gorgonzola crumbles

1/4 of a red onion minced

1 Tbs caesar dressing

1/4 cup crushed ruffled chips

Cook Bubba Burger according to package on a grill pan. I like using Bubba burgers because you cook them frozen, no need to defrost so you don’t have to plan too far ahead. I also like them because it is a good way to add extra flavor especially in a dish like this. I used the sweet onion patty but any of their other varieties would be great. While the burger is cooking thinly slice 1/4 of a red onion. Add onion to your choice of greens. I used romaine and arugula but whatever you have/like would work just fine. Add gorgonzola crumbles. Mix in caesar dressing and toss everything together to combine. I like to toss it all together before adding the burger to ensure all the greens get covered. Top salad with burger and sprinkle on the crushed ruffled chips. The chips add a nice, salty crunch and are a nod to the fries.

This salad is totally versatile, you can use whatever type of burger you prefer over a variety of greens, with whatever type of cheese you desire. I will definitely be trying out different variations of this recipe!
